Sana, la agencia de información oficial del régimen sirio libró el pasado viernes la siguiente nota:

Zapatero Says Syria Has A Basic Role in the Region Stability

DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Spanish Prime Minister Jose Louise Rodriguez Zapatero underlined on Friday "Syria's main role in the region's stability" pledging to continue coordination and consultation between Syria and Spain.

President Bashar al-Assad received a phone call this morning from the Spanish premier during which they discussed the situation in the region and Lebanon and the Spanish participation in the UNIFIL forces in south Lebanon.

President Assad for his part confirmed Syria would continue to exert efforts for stability in the region saying "perpetuation of this stability can be guaranteed by the restoration of the occupied lands, atop of which is the occupied Syrian Golan."
